It's comical that a desire can only be for what isn't

Yet how much of our thinking and attention goes to the future or past?

The former is over, the latter never arrives

Does this mean that desiring is wrong or dysfunctional?

The knowledge that one's existence is impermanent inspires us to appreciate it deeply

Death gives life to life

Future and past give life to the present

Loving what is means loving even our resistance
