How can I be present when I want things?

The mind loves the ease of binary thinking

'This is right. That is wrong'

'She is good. He is bad'

So it has a challenge with accommodating opposites

A desire (to have), or a resistance (to repel), both take one's attention away from the present moment

We want to appreciate and enjoy life as it unfolds right now, but our pesky thoughts seem to get in the way

The thing is, though; they don't

The assumption is that there is an 'I' that is constant, always there at every moment

An 'I' that enjoys the present, and then gets 'caught up' in thinking about past and future

An 'I' that then looks back and says, "I wish I could not get lost in my desires. I wish I could be more in the now."

That 'I', the supposed mover and shaker, does not exist. There is no entity standing apart from thoughts and desires

Each passing moment, whether appreciation, or wanting, or attaching, or resisting, is happening

Now

Already

Right now

You are it

Each thought

Each experience

That is what you are

One. And One. And One. And One…
