Trying to fix our reflection in the mirror
If you want to feel more meaning in life, you’re on a spiritual journey
You may try meditation, or mindfulness. A retreat or two
It will save you much time and stress if you know the limitations of what’s possible on this journey
Don’t get caught up chasing non-existent goals
You can avoid frustration and disappointment by accepting that life exists in polarity
To know and experience something, the mind contrasts it against what it is not
The most profound example of this is “I”
To know who you are, your identity contrasts against everything you are not.
That means your body is “I” and everything else is “not I”
In other words, you are a human body wrapped in skin.
YET
There is a part of us that knows everything that is “not I”.
Remember the law of polarity?
You can only know what you are against a backdrop of everything you are not.
You also know that. Get it?
On the physical level, you are a person/body. On another, deeper level you are that which knows the body, AND everything that is NOT that body.
To conclude, there are two levels of life –
1) the physical, and
2) the knowing part, or consciousness
You are both
Why is this relevant?
If you seek meaning and satisfaction only on the physical level, you are neglecting the fundamental aspect -- consciousness
Working only on the physical (your body, possessions etc) is like trying to fix your reflection in a mirror
Real impact occurs when you work on the deeper YOU which is consciousness
How do we do that?
Come back tomorrow :)
